#1006050 Kathy Griffin

Posted by rollerjag on 02 June 2017 - 09:28 PM

I saw none of those before your post.

They are just as bad, by the way.

Which celebrity was fired for those, again?

Per usual, a strawman is built to associate what is not the same.  To have a valid comparison, it would have been someone like Tim Allen, and those images shared outside the darkest corners of the internet and into the real world (her image was covered in mainstream media, perhaps even gleefully... and those you reference were no where to be found.)

But guess what... guys like Tim Allen aren't doing the things Kathy Griffin did.

Go figure...

In trying to objectify and tear down your enemy by building a strawman in their image, you say as much about yourself as you do the evil doers that created them.

I call [BAD WORD REMOVED] on every bit of this.

Nobody praised Griffin. She got canned, and vilified, justifiably so.

I saw every one of the images shown in my post, were any of them highlighted in your version of truthful media, and criticized?

#1005349 FOX News VS CNN on Memorial Day

Honey, he's been more Presidential than the last one was in all his eight years.

Sorry that triggers you so, but it is what it is.

You're reading this thread and conclude I'm the one being triggered?

How do you continue to get fresh air inside your bubble?

Every president places a wreath on The Tomb of the Unknown shoulder every Memorial Day, and most give speeches. It's only news when the agenda is to show doubters the President can actually look Presidential.

Wow .... I was aware of the CDB & Molly Hatchet references but had no idea about the Sgt Peppers cover until now and I just googled it as well and they pinpointed the dudes shirt in the bottom right hand corner.

...  and let's not forget Sweet Home Alabama was written in response to Neil Young's Southern Man (which was about racism in the South).

It was also responding to Young's Alabama. It should also be noted much of the lyrics from Sweet Home Alabama were tongue-in-cheek and often misinterpreted.

Interestingly, Young later apologized for being too inclusive of all Alabamans, and said rumors of a feud between him and Ronnie Van Zant were unfounded. Young loved Lynyrd Skynyrd and even gave them 3 songs, which never got recorded.

Here's Ronnie wearing a shirt featuring Neil Young:

Not unexpected, but how did Winger feel about it?

#1003252 Any message boards to join to talk jaguars together sides bcc?

Posted by rollerjag on 22 May 2017 - 12:44 PM

On the contrary, we'll need you more than ever if a new board is created. Gots to keep the proven mods in place or mayhem will ensue.

I can think of a few heads that may have exploded after reading this.

Patience, grasshopper. A viable alternative is under discussion. If it helps, I'll agree to not moderate.

#1002808 THE PURGE -- Jaguars Message Board Version ... who got whacked

Posted by rollerjag on 18 May 2017 - 01:50 PM

I suspect that the board is slowly dying and probably won't be around much longer.  Efforts have been made by some of us including some mods and admins to reach out to the "powers that be" to come up with a solution.  I personally have emailed certain personnel within the Jaguars organization not only with the frustrating concerns regarding the message board, but also the security issues that I have seen regarding these problems.  I have received no response and would not be shocked if the plug is eventually pulled on the message board.

It's kind of sad and a shame when you have an owner and a front-office that touts that they want to "expand and make the 'fan experience' better", yet they neglect the one small part of the internet that is part of that.

While an internet message board is a small sliver of the "fan experience", it's actually a tool that they could use at very little cost to build up the fan base.  Remember, Jaguars fans aren't just in Duval county, they reside across the U.S. as well as in countries around the world.  Just take a look at some of the users here.  England, Ireland, countries in South America, etc.

Like it or not, much of what keeps this team here in Jacksonville is dependent on the international fan base.  It's why we have a "home game" in London every year.  The cost of fixing the problem is less than the cost to give the players Gatorade during off-season activities.

It's just my opinion, but the organization is really "dropping the ball" with this.  It''s kind of fitting actually...

This is what frustrates me. I have a feeling if someone took 5 minutes to tell Mr. Khan about the history of, and interest in, this message board, his response would likely be one of wondering why it wasn't fixed already.

Wait, are there people here actually asserting what Trump wants is an objective media? And the Left is accused of ignoring history?

Man, the couch is getting more comfy every day.

#1002075 Trump fires FBI Director Comey

Posted by rollerjag on 13 May 2017 - 03:13 PM

You and I both know that Obama wouldn't have fired him when he became political.

Why not? I mean, nothing Comey did had any effect on the election, right?
